7-Day Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Ol Pejeta & Samburu Safari

Your safari begins with pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport by your professional safari guide. Head out of the city and make your first stop at a scenic viewpoint over the Great Rift Valley, before continuing via Narok Town, the gateway to the Maasai Mara.

On arrival, check in to Sopa Lodge Maasai Mara for lunch, then set off on your first Maasai Mara game drive in the afternoon, keeping an eye out for lion, elephant, and the resident wildlife of the Mara plains. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Enjoy a full day of game viewing across the Maasai Mara, exploring the plains in search of the Big Five and, depending on the season, the dramatic Great Migration herds and river crossings. Wake up early for a final morning game drive in the Maasai Mara, departing by 7:00 AM to make the most of the wildlife at its most active. Afterward, begin your drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time to check in at Sopa Lodge Nakuru for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive around Lake Nakuru, home to Rothschild giraffes, tree-climbing lions, black and white rhinos, and flocks of flamingos painting the lakeshore pink. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Depart early at 7:00 AM for a final morning game drive at Lake Nakuru before continuing your journey to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. On arrival, check in at Sweetwaters Serena for lunch. In the afternoon, set off on a game drive through the conservancy, home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth, along with black rhino, lion, and other resident wildlife. Optional visit to the on-site Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena.

After breakfast, depart Ol Pejeta and drive north to Samburu National Reserve, a rugged wilderness set along the Ewaso Nyiro River. On arrival, check in at Sopa Lodge Samburu for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first Samburu game drive in search of the region's unique "Special Five" — Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx — along with elephant, lion, and leopard. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Enjoy a full day of game viewing across Samburu National Reserve, exploring the riverine forest and semi-arid plains in search of the Special Five and other resident wildlife along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by a further afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Sopa Lodge Samburu.

After breakfast, check out and exit through the park en route back to Nairobi, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your 7-day safari.
