5-Day Amboseli, Tsavo East & Taita Hills Sanctuary Safari

Your safari begins with pick-up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel by your professional safari guide. Depart Nairobi at 7:30 AM, driving towards Amboseli National Park with a stop en route at Emali. Arrive at your lodge by 12:00 PM, check in, and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, set off on your first Amboseli game drive from 3:00 PM until 6:30 PM, keeping an eye out for elephants and the resident wildlife of the plains. Return to Sopa Lodge Amboseli for dinner and overnight.

Wake up at 6:00 AM for breakfast before setting out at 7:00 AM for a morning game drive until 11:00 AM. Marvel at Amboseli's famous big-tusker elephants, enjoy views of Lake Amboseli with its seasonal flamingos, and take in spectacular vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro. Keep watch for the park's big cats, along with hippos and hyenas. Return to the lodge for a hot lunch as temperatures rise through the day. In the afternoon, embark on a second game drive from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, enjoying magnificent Amboseli sunsets with Kilimanjaro glowing in the background. Dinner and overnight at Sopa Lodge Amboseli.

After breakfast, depart Amboseli at 7:00 AM for Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya's largest and oldest parks. After a 4–5 hour drive, arrive and check in at Voi Wildlife Lodge for lunch. Relax before heading out on an afternoon Tsavo East game drive from 3:30 PM until 6:30 PM, keeping an eye out for the park's famous red elephants, dust-bathed in the park's distinctive red volcanic soil, along with lion, buffalo, and other resident wildlife across the park's wide-open plains. Dinner and overnight at Voi Wildlife Lodge.

Wake up at 6:00 AM for breakfast before checking out and setting off on a 3-hour morning game drive through Tsavo East, continuing your search for red elephants, lion, and plains game across the park's vast savannah. Exit the park gate by 11:00 AM and drive to the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a private conservancy set against the dramatic backdrop of the Taita Hills. Check in for lunch, then relax before an afternoon game drive through the sanctuary, home to black rhino, buffalo, and a variety of plains game against a strikingly scenic hilly landscape. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Taita Hills.

Enjoy a final morning game drive around Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary until 9:00 AM, taking in the last sightings of the sanctuary's wildlife against its scenic hills. Afterward, check out and begin your journey out, with drop-off in Nairobi, or at Voi for travelers continuing on to Mombasa via SGR, marking the end of your safari.
